Our History

Pippo's Cafe has a lot of history in this charming Mom & Pop style cafe. Built in 1961, Pippo's started out as just a counter and two tables, now we have grown to ten tables & two roomy counters. The name Pippo comes from the original owner Marge Gai's Uncle Pippo. The name has never changed throughout all the years. Our landmarks not only include the unique name but a detailed mural painted by Nora Milligan in 1963. Rumor has it that shortly after the mural was painted Nora disappeared. No one has heard or seen her since. Needless to say we are very proud to continue to serve the Cortez area for 50 years and counting.
